If that is where the professional help is, than my answer is yes.
Providing the teenager agrees to try and clean up while there and afterward then I have no problem with it. But somehow I do have a problem with forcing them into doing something that they are neither wanting or willing to give an honest try. Drugs are certainly dangerous and have been around for a long time, as have rehab centers. But years ago these centers were not as open as they appear today. Back when we were younger and kids were eating acid like it was candy there were not many who took advantage of any of these centers. But today it appears that parents are more open to sending the kids to rehab. It can work and be a good way of altering your lifestyle, but fact of life is that the success rate is truly not that high. Personally I believe that it is often better for the kids to witness their friends getting truly messed up and spending the rest of their lives in some mental institution or prison or perhaps even dying to help them leave this life behind. But like most people kids are of the mind often that it won’t happen to me and until death or something frightening happens in their world then it becomes reality. Sorry for rambling on for so long.
