Interesting Facts Related to New Mexico Drug Rehab

Young and old alike are entering a drug and alcohol rehab program more and more every year. The rate of people seeking New Mexico drug rehab is alarming and families and educators are looking for answers to alleviate this ever growing problem. Even schools in general do not recognize the importance for education regarding this issue. And although many students are in or have been in a drug rehab center, a general program for students and teachers just does not exist.
The facts in New Mexico are startling. With this state being home to nearly two million people, there are nearly seven thousand in prison and another eighteen thousand on probation with many of them drug related. Add to that the fact that much of that number is made up of those that could have been helped by entering a drug and alcohol rehab program.
Cocaine as well as crack cocaine is a known problem for most of the state of New Mexico. Unfortunately, its physical position in the United States, bordering Mexico, makes it vulnerable for traffickers to use it to ship drugs across state lines. Recreational and “club” drugs are very prevalent in New Mexico because very big rave parties are held in the larger cities. And although there is a drug rehab center near most towns and cities, many people never go to one which is so unfortunate.
Heroine as well as methamphetamine is also very popular in this state. And to add to the even greater use of drugs and the need for New Mexico drug rehab, psychologists as well as psychiatrists can dispense drugs for their patients. Marijuana use is on the rise as it also comes in through Mexico.
Regrettably, the crime rate in New Mexico is twenty percent, higher than the national average, and growing. Nearly ninety percent of all crimes are property crime and can be related to drug and alcohol abuse where people have not entered into a drug and alcohol rehab program. Again, without educating people that there is a drug rehab center near every large city that can help this situation, the problem will just get worse.
Every single day New Mexican police make thirty drug arrests and twenty five DUI arrests. Some are forced into a drug and alcohol rehab program, but many others never go. Without these people learning about New Mexico drug rehab the statistics in this state will not lower.
